Please remember your local pharmacist can offer professional free advice and can answer questions about prescribed and over the counter medications.

Vitamin D can be bought over the counter from your local pharmacist or health food shop. People at risk of Vit D deficiency are those under 5, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, people who have low exposure to sunlight, People with darker skin and people over 65.

New guidance from the CCG is that GP's can no longer issue prescriptions for any medications that can be bought over the counter, such as Paracetamol, Calpol, Aspirin, or hay fever medications like Cetirizine. This includes both adults and children.

Please be aware that Smear test results are currently taking 4-6 weeks to process by the laboratory. You will be sent letters directly from them. The results do not come to the surgery first.

Prescription Queries

For any prescription queries or to order repeat medications if you don't have online access please email capccg.prescriptions.mmp@nhs.net please allow a full 72 hours for your prescription to be processed.

Flu Vaccinations!

Here at the surgery we will be offering the vaccine to the following group:

Adults:

We will be providing a Vaccine to over 18’s who:

  • are 65 years of age or over   
  • are pregnant 
  • have certain medical conditions 
  • are living in a long-stay residential care home or other long-stay care facility 
  • receive a carer's allowance, or you are the main carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if you fall ill 

Children:

All children under 18 unless contraindicated will receive the Fluenz Nasal Spray

  • over the age of 6 months and under 18 with a long-term health condition
  • aged 2 and 3 on August 31 2018 – that is, born between September 1 2014 and August 31 2016

Please note children in reception class and school years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 will have theirs administered at school.

Our clinics will be held as follows:

Saturday 13th October 2018 OR Saturday 3rd November 2018 between 9am-12pm

We now have another drop in date which is Tuesday 16th between 16:00 - 19:00

 

Laura will run a catch up adult only clinic that people can be booked into on Tuesday 16th October. Sue will run a drop in clinic also on this day for anyone unable to attend either Saturday.

 

 Those eligible will receive a letter from us (being sent out next week by an external company on our behalf)

 Contraception

Our Contraception Practice Nurse is leaving us and we will no longer be able to offer our contraception services for fitting coils, implants or diaphragm's. However, we are still able to offer general contraception advise as well as pill checks, depot injections and emergency contraception. For further information and alternative services please click here or here. We are aiming to replace this service eventually but it may be some time before we can offer this service again.

Smears

The labs have notified us that we are currently facing a 12 week waiting list for results of smears. You will be sent the results directly when they come through so please don't call the surgery to chase these up.

Public Meeting

‘Community First’ consultation on proposed changes to the provision of inpatient beds for people with a learning disability in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is being held on the 6th September from 1pm-3pm. The closing date has been extended to 5pm on Friday 12 October 2018. Please click here for more details.

Lunch Time Closure

Our Library reception and Main Incoming Line will be closed from 12:30 – 15:00 on the afternoon of Wednesday 26th September 2018 for an all staff meeting.
