Dr Koo joined the practice in November 2004. She qualified at University College Cork and is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and holds the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Dr Koo is a GP with a Special Interest in Dermatology.
Dr Siriwardena qualified at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin. She is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. She also holds the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the Diploma of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the Masters in Public Health from University College Dublin. She is the practice clinical lead for older people.
Dr Samantha A Plagaro Cowee. MBBS equiv; FRCS Edinburgh; MRCGP; Diploma in Sports Medicine Bath University.After qualifying as a doctor in Tenerife in 1993, Dr Cowee came over to the UK and has been working in the NHS since. She spent many years in hospital medicine, in particular A&E medicine. It was back in 2003 that she made the change into General practice and has remained in this field since.Her specialist interests are the musculoskeletal system, sport injuries and more recently acupuncture specially for musculoskeletal problems.
Dr Cairns grew up in Cambridge and went to Birmingham University Medical School.He did a series of A+E and surgical jobs in the West Midlands, North Wales, and Cambridge, before commencing GP training in Bury St Edmunds. Dr Cairnsqualified as a GP in 2010.He is a Recognised Clinical Teacher at Cambridge University and has been actively involved with the teaching of Graduate Students. He continues to enjoy performing Minor Surgery at MMP.
Dr Korouth joined the Practice in October 2016.
Graduated from Glasgow University 1985.
Dr Wilson worked as GP partner in North East Essex for 27 years and moved to the Cambridge area as his wife, and children work here. In Essex Dr Wilson was a GP trainer and Programme Director for Specialist Training of Junior Doctors on the GP training scheme in Colchester. He took partial retirement this year, but continues to enjoy working as a GP two days per week at Monkfield Medical Practice.
Jeremy first joined the NHS in 1978 as an Operating Department Orderly as a summer relief job. A proposed career in motor engineering was abandoned with the start of Registered General Nurse training. After qualification and a period "staffing" in a west London hospital Jeremy undertook Registered Mental Nurse training to obtain a dual qualification. Marriage, family and relocation to Suffolk provided a Community Nursing opportunity and subsequent District Nurse qualification. Senior District Nurse post and management posts followed. Over the Millennium Jeremy returned to University to undertake BSc Honours in Nurse Practitioner. This has been followed with a prescribing qualification and specialist course in Diabetes. In addition Jeremy has been a First Responder with the Ambulance Service and is a former qualified Expedition Medic and served abroad and at home in the UK.
Jo has worked at Monkfield Medical practice for 7 years. She has been a Nurse for over 30 years training in London. She has a background in general nursing, initially working in hospital in gynaecology, ophthalmology and ENT, then working in the community both in London and Cambridge as a Health Visitor. Since then she has qualified as a Nurse Practitioner and prescriber, with a specialist diploma in Family Planning and Reproductive Sexual Health.RGN, DipHV, BSc(Hons)NP, NDFRSH.
June joined the practice in February 2015. She qualified as a registered nurse and paediatric nurse and specialises in asthma and contraception.
Sue Colquhoun trained at Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge then worked in the hospital and out patients departments until starting work as a Practice Nurse in 1997. She has been working at MMP since 2005.
Trish qualified as an RGN at Ipswich School of Nursing.She has a diploma in Diabetes Care and a diploma in Asthma Care and is Family Planning trained.
Paula has been registered as a nurse since 1988, a practice nurse for the past 9 years and she has additional qualifications in contraception and sexual health and diabetes.
