JOB TITLE:                      NHS Health Check Officer 

LOCATION:                     Sackville House, Cambourne

HOURS:                          24 per week Mon, Weds, Fri

SALARY:                         £11.44 per hour (pay award pending)

CONTRACT:                    Temporary 12 months, part time

REPORTING TO:              Practice Manager / Senior Nurse / GP Partner

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:      MMP Staff, MMP Patients

Job Summary

NHS health checks are a review of our patients overall health and identify if they are at higher risk of getting certain health problems, such as:

• Heart disease
• Diabetes
• Kidney Disease
• Stroke

During the checks you will measure height and weight & waists, take blood pressure, carryout a cholesterol test, and possibly a blood sugar level test, which is usually a finger-prick blood test. You will also elicit, while aiming aiming to motivate positive change in patients’ smoking status, alcohol intake and physical activity.
